People nowadays, think that if we don’t feel like doing something, we don’t have to. They think that we can just escape our responsibilities. Everyday we have responsibilities, and we must do them to move further in life. No matter how old you are, 7 or 40, you have at least one responsibility. My photograph portrays the idea of a person trying to escape what they have to do.

My artwork shows a girl, who is on the ground and grabbing her schoolwork as if she is trying to get away but can’t. Her facial expression shows stress and hopelessness. She appears to be trying to get away from her work but something is keeping her there and trying to pull her back to her work.

My inspiration came from an issue that is very important to me. I believe everyone in this world has a duty and has a job they must be doing. If they aren’t, I see that as giving up and trying to take the easy way out of things. From my artwork, I hope others will understand the issue of responsibilities and how each and every person should have at least one.
