The main idea of my collage is texting while driving. I want my viewer to know how dangerous it is to text while driving and what could happen because of it. I want to get across how serious it is and how it could lead to injuries and possibly death. The three symbols used were: the fire, the caution tape, and the arm. The fire represents an accident that had occurred because of someone texting and driving. The caution tape represents the idea of being careful behind the wheel and making smart decisions with a phone. The arm represents a person that has been killed because of texting while driving. It is shown because it is coming out of the flipped over car. My process to making my collage was to start digitally then at the end, add something by hand then scan it back in. I started with my background, which I wanted to be a road. Then, I wanted to make it seem like a teen was killed from texting and driving because my collage is directed towards them. I did this by adding a flipped car, with a hand coming out of it, and a phone that is larger to emphasize the importance, and on the phone, the messages app is up with it showing the person was texting "Mom". Also, I added a newspaper article that had the headline of a teen killed with it blurred to add more of an effect on the viewer.
