Abandonment is one of the worst feelings. When you are abandoned, you are forgotten about and left behind to be by yourself. The worst type of abandonment is by your own family. This happens when relationships between you and your family members get messed up and unfixable. My photo represents the idea of abandoning your own family.

My artwork illustrates a girl standing, holding a photograph of a family in her arms. The photograph is portrayed to be the girls family. Her facial expression shows and sadness and like she experienced a loss. Her body language shows that same concept with her arms wrapped around the photo. This photograph shows my idea because for some unknown reason, this girl and her family had a falling out and no longer communicate. I wanted to show the regret the girl has by adding in the photograph and having her hug it, like she misses them.

My inspiration for this photo came from reality. There are many families that are broken up and aren’t together around the world. Sometimes, it’s not on purpose, but other times it is. I believe that no parent should ever abandon their child, under any circumstance. From my photo, I hope others will take time and think about the difficulties others face on a daily basis, regarding their family.
